EUROSIM
Objective
EUROSIM (Hunt for Europe: Using Language Simulator in Culture & Language Integrated Learning) aims to support and strengthen the learning of different European languages and cultures, and promote European languages and cultural diversity.
Content
The project will develop a digital learning environment, which will become an online language and cultural learning platform in the "Serious Games" genre. In this interactive environment, coupled with automatic speech recognition, the student acquires knowledge of language and culture, which is subsequently tested in a realistic 3D environment.
EUROSIM will consist of three different "skill" sections:
- The "Pronunciation Trainer" - which enables the student to practice the pronunciation of single words and receive feedback on areas with primary issues.
- The "Skill Builder" - teaching both the pronunciation of single words and whole sentences and providing cultural information relevant to the various environments that are part of the 3D section. The section also contains interactive exercises and quizzes with a focus on understanding and producing language.
- 6 different but connected 3D environments, each depicting a culturally important area within one of the partner countries. The overall storytelling is the discovery of the European cultural identity.
The primary target group for the learning platform is adult European citizens, migrants and refugees, including NEETS (Not in Education, Employment, or Training).
