Early Learning in Daycare
Objective
The project "Early Learning in Daycare - Inclusive Learning Environments on the Children’s Terms" is part of a broader strategic process in Vejle Municipality to develop a new targeted approach to support early learning in daycare.
The objectives of the project are to:
- collect new international knowledge and practice experience
- create a link between new knowledge and experience and existing strategic goals and efforts through the development of a new strategy for support of early childhood learning
- develop new ideas and formats that suit Danish and “Vejlensian” practice
- gather experiences and networks for major international partnerships
Activities
The project is a combined mobility and development project. In the fall of 2017, project participants go on a combined two-day course at writer and speaker James Nottingham's consultancy Challenging Learning in England and two-day practice visits in two British daycare centers.
Based on learning from course and practice visits, a strategic development for the daycare field will be conducted through development meetings and workshops both internally in the consortium and involving all 110 daycare managers and deputy managers in the municipality.
Partnership
The project's consortium consists of Vejle Municipality's Institutional Council, which guides the strategic development and implementation thereof in the daycare area and supports educational development in the municipality.
VIFIN is a partner in the project and is responsible for coordinating and managing the project. At the same time, VIFIN will give input to the development and testing of activities and methods in practice, the possible use of digital media and input to creative and innovative ways to work with early learning. In addition, VIFIN is responsible for evaluating and disseminating the project.
All 110 daycare managers and deputy managers in Vejle Municipality's daycare are involved in the strategic and implementing work of the project.
Financing
The project is funded by Erasmus + and runs from August 2017 to July 2018.
