Stronger Together - Prevention of Radicalization in Schools

Objective
Stronger Together - Prevention of Radicalization in Schools will help prevent radicalization among 10-12-year-olds by developing a teaching material consisting of five modules and a digital board game.

The modules will include the themes: morality, self-control, inclusion and diversity, critical thinking and the prevention of radicalization. The themes will be presented in class and discussed based on the digital board game. The project wants to engage pupils, teachers and parents in the game so that they get the experience of being stronger together.

Activities
The project consists of the following activities:

• Development of teaching material for teachers who teach 4th, 5th and 6th grade. This includes teaching materials for classroom instruction and for the digital board game
• Technical development of the digital board game
• Development of a "Stronger Together" handbook with:
  • Teaching materials
  • The digital board game as a method and the specific game rules
  • Guide to how the teaching material is implemented in the class, ie. how the teachers teach the five modules and use the digital board game in practice
  • Testing of the teaching material in 4th, 5th and 6th grade
  • Evaluation of the teaching material and the project as a whole

As mentioned, the parents are also involved. They are encouraged to take part in the digital board game via online communication.

The project is implemented in cooperation between:

• SSP Vejle and VIFIN, Vejle Municipality (coordinator)
• CSCI, Italy
• VNB, Germany
• Eco Logic, Republic of Macedonia
• Östra Göing Municipality, Sweden
• Etterbeek Municipality, Belgium

Financing
The project is supported by the EU program Erasmus +. It runs from September 2018 - August 2020.
