Øresundsbørnene(Children of the Sound Region)
The Øresund (Sound) in East Denmark lies close to the Swedish border. It therefore natural that region envisions to integrate both the Danish and the Swedish-speaking citizens. Leading the pursuit of this vision is Integration Tools, the lead organisation in the project, Øresundsbørnene. VIFIN, Sandahl Dialog and Lönegaard were project partners.

The project aimed to develop children’s inter-cultural competencies and communication skills, and supported integration between the Danish and the Swedish part of Øresund.

Teaching materials on: the Danish and the Swedish languages, daily life and culture have been produced, and ideal for us by elementary students, primarily by those living in the Sound Region.

The materials may be used across the country as a basic contribution to the work with “international dimension” in small classes. The theme is not normally a part of the daily subjects because more teaching materials are needed.

The materials have been produced in analogue and digital forms, but give emphasis on the net-based elements.
