Eurobalance

Issues of work life balance (WLB) are often at the forefront of employment policies across Europe because of its benefits to companies and their employees: It increases workers’ health, satisfaction and productivity. However, WLB is yet not a well-adopted practice across Europe.

The project seeks to create an education and learning environment that will encourage more effective uptake of WLB. Several steps will be undertaken  to meet this goal:  Peer educators -- so-called champions -- will be trained to become mentors on WLB. They will promote the uptake of a balanced work and life approach in organizations and small to middle range enterprises (SME). These champions will likewise train employees in the course of the project life. Furthermore, existing knowledge will be transferred to an e-database, and ICT-based training courses will be developed. This offers users flexible access to information.

Taking into account local linguistic, fiscal, legal, cultural and social differences, the provided material will be linguistically and conceptually adapted to circumstances applying in each partner country.

The project is funded by the EU- Lifelong Learning Programme – Leonardo Da Vinci Development of Innovation subprogramme, and runs from 2009 to 2011.

Project partners include:
OAKE EUROPE LTD, United Kingdom (Coordinator)
Wrexham Family Information Service, United Kingdom
Danmar Computers, Poland
Diciannove Cooperative Society, Italy

Polydynamo Centre of Social Intervention of Cyclades, Greece
