ProjectsOngoing ProjectsDDV, Danish Daily Life on Video The project aims to create and disseminate a tool that will facilitate a basic understanding of what it means to be Danish among ethnic minorities, who have limited contact to Danes and the Danish daily life. This is envisioned to promote their integration into the Danish society. The project will produce simple video clips that provide the basis for teaching and debating among ethnic minorities on Danish values in relation to schooling, education and democracy, among others. The film clips are uploaded on the dansk.nu platform (a digital based learning platform for learning Danish as a Second Language), and can be used by language schools and other learning institutions on teaching Danish as a Second Language. The DDV is a simple tool that enables teachers and students to upload film sequences via mobile phones. The film can also be used to supplement study materials. A further advantage of DDV lies in its subtitles integrating students on different levels of Danish proficiency into the debates. The video clips, in combination with the debates that they will inspire, can lead to a deeper understanding of, and openness to the Danish society, so that ethnic minorities will find it easier to interact with Danes. The project is financed by the Danish Ministry of Integration under the auspices of the program, “Strengthening Integration Initiatives, and runs from May 2008 to November Back to overview of completed projects
