Ongoing Projects

ALL.4.EU

The project aims to strengthen active citizenship, thereby bridging the perceived gap between local folk and decision makers and institutions in the EU. “Citizen’s Panels” have been established in several European cities to address this issue.

The Citizen’s Panel informs local folk on how to use their rights and privileges to be active citizens in the EU, and to give them the chance to dialogue with other EU-citizens and the EU Commission. This consequently, strengthens representative democracy, active citizenship and democratic participation within the EU.

In all the countries represented in the partnership, electronic, virtual citizen’s panels have been established, which meet several times in 2009. On these meetings, participants decide themselves which issues to discuss. The outcomes of the debates in Denmark and the partner countries will be collected in several recommendations to be handed to the EU Commission in November.

The project is financed by the European Commission 'Europe for Citizens' program and will run from 2008 to 2009.
