Welcome Package for Migrant Workers

The number of workers from Eastern European countries who come to work in other European countries is increasing. This project aims to help prepare migrant workers to work in other countries. Countries represented in this partnership are Denmark, Norway and Scotland (the receiving countries) and Poland and Lithuania (dispatching countries)
In general, migrant workers (legal and illegal) travel to their destination unprepared. This is not only an issue for the workers but also for the employers and society in general.

The project will create a virtual “Welcome Package” that will facilitate the foreign workers adoption and integration to the workplace and the local community. The project will develop a flexible and coherent training system with mentorship support consisting of:
This welcome package contains among other thing online language learning material on a basic level, information on social, cultural and legislative values, that is in the receiving countries and a site for the dispatching countries where the there will be information about language schools, work and other information, that is important to know, when going to the receiving country.

This project is financed by EU’s Grundtvig Multilaterale Partnership Programme from 2009-2011
