Mangfoldighedsledelse (Diversity Management)

A forecast of the Danish labour market indicates that the market's composition will change within the next few years: The demand for labour force will increase, making it important to ensure the integration of migrants and refugees.

Diversity management can facilitate successful integration. “It is important to work with diversity management, because the today’s world has become more complex than ever. There is no more one way of doing things,” says Vejle’s former Mayor Flemming Christensen.

Mr. Christense's statement introduces the training course on Diversity Management that was developed by VIFIN and the Municipality of Vejle: Ud af min arbejdsplads … er det det signal, vi sender til nye medarbejdere? (Out of My Workplace … Is that the signal We Give New Employees?). The project draws inspiration from a project that was implemented by the Sønderborg Municipality for its employees.

The course promotes the principle that difference among employee groups is an advantage at the workplace. Diversity Management encourages leaders to acknowledge that employees have different resources and competencies.
